New research network aims to map

A new research initiative looking at gender in the media sector was launched at this month’s Making a Difference Conference hosted by WFTV and the BFI. The Research Institute for Gender in Media (RIGM) is a global network focusing on research into gender issues in the creative industries including film, television and gaming. It will encompass both academic and industry research across screen-based media to produce a global statistical picture of the sector, to identify issues and to propose actions to correct them. It was founded by Lyndsay Duthie, Kim Akass, Jane Roscoe and Kate Kinninmont. To read more, click here.
