The BFI’s latest five-year strategic plan for UK film, BFI2022, includes three priority areas: building audiences, learning and skills, and developing talent. Improving diversity will underpin work in all these areas. The plan will cover investment of nearly £500 million from 2017-2022 made up of government grant-in-aid, earned income and Lottery funding. Over the five-year period nearly £180 million will be spent on the BFI’s cultural programme, while £30 million will go to education, the bulk of which will go to MITA partner Into Film (£24 million), and a further £28.5 million will be invested in skills. The remaining investment will support filmmakers, audience development and film heritage. To read more, click here.
