About Zoom CYMRU

Zoom Cymru is a charitable enterprise whose objects are to promote, maintain, improve and advance education by the provision of a year-round film and media development programme designed to strengthen, support and extend the creative and vocational aspirations of young people. Zoom supports inclusion, cultural diversity and the continued regeneration of our communities.

Founded in 2006, Zoom delivers imaginative and adventurous programmes.  These include Wales’s leading Film and Media Festival for Young People rooted in the former coalfield communities. Year-round Zoom designs and delivers participatory work placements, seminars and research activities. Zoom’s Youth Film Council supports film literacy and peer education.

This project operates in the Creative Industries – one of WAG’s priority sectors – and accords absolutely with the vision of a Wales where there is a strong and enterprising economy and full employment based on quality jobs. It is intended to encourage and stimulate enterprise and support companies to grow and invest. It opens doors to a high-value sector to young people particularly those from under-represented and disadvantaged communities.
