About GMAC Film

GMAC Film is a hub where people from all walks of life who are interested in film meet & work. We offer a membership to local independent filmmakers for £20 a year to enjoy perks like free film screenings and discounted invites to talks and workshops. Every month we host Café Flicker – an ‘open screen’ event for local filmmakers to showcase their work in front of an audience of filmlovers.

We deliver a high quality, year round youth programme to young people from 10 to 25 years old which includes ‘Mad About Movies’ monthly Movie Clubs and annual filmmaking schools. We also deliver the BFI Film Academy in Glasgow to 16-19 year olds who are interested in pursuing a career in film. We can deliver bespoke film projects to your organisation – just get in touch and have a chat with our experienced education team to find out more.

GMAC Film also delivers career development programmes for filmmaking talent to help bridge the gap between the independent sector and more established part of the industry. Our most recent programme, Foot In The Door supported a group of Scottish producers and filmmakers progress their careers through workshops, masterclasses, mentorship matchmaking and work placements. We have also delivered Second Light, a development programme exclusively for young BME filmmakers, to redress the lack of representation from our BME communities in the sector.

GMAC Creative is the commercial arm of GMAC Film and produces commissioned work with all profits going back in to the charitable work of the company.

GMAC Film is passionate about diversity and equality of opportunity and welcomes individuals and groups under represented in the moving image sector. For more information visit the website or connect with us on Facebook.
